Data Size & Bandwidth Converter
Convert storage sizes, network data rates, time units and number bases.
Sizing a backup, a transfer window or a log volume? Convert between units instantly below.
Data size (bytes ↔ KB ↔ MB ↔ GB ↔ TB)
Bandwidth / data rate (bps ↔ Mbps ↔ Gbps)
Time (ms ↔ s ↔ min ↔ h ↔ days)
Why doesn't my 1 TB drive show 1000 GB free?
Drive makers count in decimal (1 TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes) while your OS often counts in binary (1 TiB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes), so a 1 TB drive reads as ~931 GiB.
How do I convert Mbps to MB/s?
Divide the megabit rate by 8 (there are 8 bits per byte). 100 Mbps ≈ 12.5 MB/s before overhead — the bandwidth converter handles this for you.
How long will a transfer take?
Convert your link to bytes per second and divide the file size by it. The data-rate and data-size converters above give you both halves of the math.
